Hello, I have a refrigerant recycling machine in my work van and don't want to run an extension cord from a customers house to the machine in my van, what size inverter do I need to run the recycling machine safely?

Does it have a data plate or sticker stating the HP, locked rotor current, and/or running amps?
What is the Manuf. and model number?

Compressor specs:
  • Capacity (BTU/HR): 5821
  • Running Amps: 8.4A
  • Speed: 3500 RPM
  • Locked Rotor Amps: 30.0A
Might need an EU3000is but the EU2200i is still worth a try if you can find someone with one to try out...

I agree, 3000 running watts should do. Keep in mind that the motor can draw up to 3600 watts according to the information @tabora provide above.
Champion offers several inverter generators along the lines of what your requirements may be.
Check their product line out. Hondas are nice but way over priced.
Champion generator quality and performance cannot be beat for the price.
Check out these models:
