I had a buddy give me an old log splitter that needed some work. The pump was seized, motor seized and lines dry rotted. Originally had an 8 hp engine. I got a replacement motor (10hp), new pump (16 gpm 2 stage)and new lines. The old pump had 1/2 npt supply line. The new replacement pump has 1” barb. I purchased a fitting that will go from 1/2 npt to 1” barb. Will there be enough flow to keep up with the pump going through the original 1/2 npt fitting? I didn’t really want to risk drilling the tank for a 1”npt fitting and risk getting metal shavings inside.
Thoughts?
