Hi all.

I have a small Stihl chainsaw which has a problem whereby the revs fall away when the throttle is opened fully, meaning it doesn't have the power to cut. If the throttle is released slightly the revs climb again to enable cutting, but finding the right point at which the thing actually does any work is difficult and, most probably, dangerous. This happens even with no load on the blade.

The carb has been cleaned out, and the fuel and air filters are clean. Is this a question of adjusting the high jet speed on the carb, or a different problem altogether?

Initially this started as a periodic fault (hence the carb cleanout etc) but it's now doing it all the time.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
