Same thing happened to me and found the carburetor jet was plugged from varnish in the bowl after leaving is set with fuel in the bowl. I've learned to turn the fuel valve off while running and let it die before storing it. Also, try to find ethanol free fuel and use Sta-Bil fuel additive.

The same thing happened to me. I came home after two years of absence due to work. I threw things in the washing machine, and it would not start. I called a friend of mine. We went through the whole washing machine, but could not find the problem. Left it at that for now. Plan to take it to a maintenance specialist. But in addition to this washing machine, a whole bunch more things have accumulated during my absence. For example, I noticed a few days ago that the back patio was dirty. So yesterday, I called the guys at sparklewash.com. These guys specialize in cleaning with a high-pressure washer. And I was pleased with their work and for a fairly modest fee.
