For some time, I have noticed this generator sitting behind a building in Winston Salem.
The name on the building was: Veterans Helping Veterans Heal.

Today I stopped and took pictures.
Sad, but it appears to be a diesel which I have no use for.
It was locked so no way to tell if it was single or three phase.
It looks to be abandoned.
I bet it can be bought, but not too sure but a generous donation will possibly get it.

even if you are thinking of fostering.

if you have the time, and space.
and be able to deal with a problem child well i say why not.

you might be able to get it ready for a good family.
and charity might be the right thing.

so fix it up and auction or raffle it off and donate to the vets.

or better yet adopt a vet and teach a vet a new trade.
that hand up thing.
it could be a good thing.

Because of its location I have the same thoughts. Could also be it's considered too far gone or been gutted?
With it being 15 hours away I'm out but I like those kinds of projects.

As you can see by the time and date stamp it was Saturday when I stopped to nose around.
There were three vehicles parked close to it, possibly someone was inside.
I am out of the heavy lifting and moving business since retirement in 1995.
I have no space to rehabilitate this animal along with a bad back and age which prohibits any involvement in a rescue.
I left the web site information with telephone numbers.
I am usually in that area on Thursday to visit a friend that owns a pawn shop.
I am curious about the big generator.
I will stop next week and inquire, nothing to lose.
I can only hope I am not too weak as to make a ridiculous offer.

I love old rescue cases but it is a bit too far for me.

it is only about four hours away but I am not sure work would let me take the boom truck that far for a personal mission. They are a good company though and do let you personally use any equipment they have.

I do have a 6 cylinder White Diesel engine on an engine block that is ready for a 100 kw Jenny to bolt to it. I might rescue that one.

You have the equipment to get this up and away.
I did not see any hooks on the top though.
Four hours is not too much of a drive if the unit is in good shape.
I have a Dr's appointment early Thursday morning.
Once I get that out of the away, I will inquire about this Generator and post the info back on the forum.
Of course, you can always call and ask.

You can ask for others but I am okay without it. I am not a huge Koehler fan anyway

Unless it came from a cell phone tower site where it might get extended run time I bet it has few hours on it however.

Our back up generator at the dam was built in 1987 and it only has 963 hours on it.

To be honest, I think it would require a lot of refurbishing.
Add to that, I bet the director just pulled the purchase price out of the air.
