Currently use Honda EU7000is generators for all my trucks but a new concept runs heavy on electricity. Running watts is about 7800W. Potentially adding a diesel truck into the mix so I am looking for a diesel generator that is able to handle 8.5Wk-10kW running Watts. Would love any insight/recommendations!

If you are adding a diesel truck to your mix of vehicles, then consider investigating the same diesel power packages that truckers use to power their systems while overnighting, without having to run the main engine.

Don't know the full range/capabilities of these, but it seems they would be particularly well-suited to a diesel truck, sharing the fuel system, hanging out of the way on truck frame, etc.

There was a post on this a month or so back:

I looked at linking two 7000's, its still on the table as we could still pivot to a gas truck instead. Like another person posted, we wanted to go with a kubota lowboy or the cummins 1800rpm 10kw commercial gen and then connect to directly to our diesel fuel line in the truck, just creating a single source to fill and allowing a larger run time capacity on the generator as well. In terms of noise, both diesels seem to have fairly low dB outputs (mid 60s compared to mid 50s with honda, however claims that db output when on eco mode, they are quite brain rattling still at a full load). Additionally, being liquid cooled, i am assuming we should have an easier time creating a sound-proof enclosure without the concern of overheating

the smell is a BIG thing on diesel in a food area.
the diesel rotten egg smell is a BIG turn off.

and some areas of the country will not allow diesel in food truck areas.
you might check in with that.
if it had a full dpf system it might pass the clean air act stuff but might fail the food inspectors.

LP would be a better fuel.
but that is another fuel source
