Honda eu1000i ,Generator runs fine on eco-mode dies when switching to high any thoughts ?

tested with no load and plug a light into it same result. regular unleaded. have owned-since new.

Seems more of a non mechanical issue ?. runs fine on eco mode .just dies when switching to high. Just my thoughts. Thanks

Carb issue due to ethanol gunk and sitting without regular exercise. Carb needs cleaning. Sufficient fuel flow for low rpm but not when off econo mode. You could try running it for several hours with a double dose of a premium carb cleaner in the gas and see if any improvement. Maybe you caught it in time?

so list all what you have done so far.

did you turn up the idle screw?
i needs to be set at +100 rpm from base eco speed with no load.

also does it run better with the service side cover off?
