Simpson 2800 psi pressure washer with Honda GCV 160 engine.

Engine starts first pull and will remain running until wand trigger is engaged. Then engine stops 10-30 seconds later. Sometimes with a small backfire, sometimes not. Release wand pressure, start, repeat. It won’t remain running.

I’ve tried multiple unloader valves and even replaced the pump assembly completely. Carb has been thoroughly cleaned and gas cap venting ‘cleaned’. New gas too.

Looking for recommendations from others who know better than I. Thank you. John

Sounds like the engine is using up the gas in the carb and stalling.

Check your fuel lines to the carb, you might need the carb cleaned also.

also check the valve gap on the engine.
you might have low horsepower.
and check the compression.
