I have an old Husqvarna chainsaw that an elderly gent gave me 8 years ago. I haven't run it in years, but it started right up.It has a 20" bar. But I doesn't move much oil onto the bar and I had to stop and squirt oil on it every several minutes have any suggestion.

The pickup in the tank could be clogged or broken, the drive gear on the pump may be stripped, shaft might be seized in the barrel. What is the model number? That will give us an idea of the pump construction.

Pour out the oil and then clean out the oil tank because so many used the wrong type of oil, (use chainsaw chain oil) check that the ventilation (if fitted) in the oil tank is not clogged by removing the cap and from the outside blow with compressed air, and if that doesn't work disassemble the pump.
