Briggs and Stratton p3000 no spark

120 Views 3 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  GenKnot
I got this generator for free and it has no spark. I've checked wires, replaced the coil, tested the trigger coil and replaced the spark plug. It was severely overfilled with oil which I have not changed. Is there anything I can do to bring back spark?

Perhaps the oil sensor is defective. Try unplugging it and see if it has spark then.

Hi,I just unplugged the oil sensor and still no spark. Anything else that I can try?

Well, the wiring diagram shows that there is a High Voltage Sensor just ahead of the plug. If you can figure out a way to bypass that and see if there is a spark, then that is worth a try. Other than that, you might be looking at a bad inverter.
