Hello,

I did a Google search for a power washing forum and found you all.

I am interested in starting my own small power washing business but know nothing about it.

I paid a guy last year to do our house and he did an okay job at best. I would like to learn how to do this myself

but have not the foggiest idea of where to start on this forum.

Thank you in advance !

do a biz plan first!
you are looking at $25k to 50k as start up budget.

you will want a hot water washer.
take a look at this unit.
click here for the northern trailer hot washer

you will need a small med size truck to tow that.
i use an s10 with a 4.3 engine that works well.
a topper on the truck to keep the tools and solutions locked up.

also you need a warm place to store wash items for winter or cold climates.

they also make broom attachments that saves a lot of time for parking lots and drive ways.
same for doing siding on a house.
there are special attachments to save time for a good job!

it is a hard job... you have to like water!
and wear masks when you do wash down solutions as they can burn your lungs.
but if you take the time to do it right you can make beans.

Thanks very much. I def do not have 25k to 50k for start up. Prob need to rethink the whole venture.

most biz these days will take that much if you are going to do it right.
unless you already have all the tools and equipment...

I spend $20k per year just in education updates.
then there is all of the other stuff like book keeping,
bankers, all of the state papers for biz lic.
you are dealing with water so the education from the dnr has to be in there for the wash chems. certifications.

biz insurance,
the list goes on and on for the out cash.
and those are a monthly thing!
so you need to make at least $1000.00 net per week or $200 bucks a day just to pay for all of the out money.

rough biz world we live in these days...
and this is why so many do not make it...

Thx man. I thought I could just do homes in my area. Did not realize there would be so much to it.
