Hey all. I have a small cabin on my farm in southwest Missouri. Batteries and solar run my lights/TVs/etc. It is a weekend cabin and running power was going to be around $20,000 so not worth it. I have a major problem in spring and summer with humidity. I have walked in on a Friday evening and it be 85-90% and I have to wipe mold dust off cabinets/table/etc. I have propane which runs my hot water, stove, and wall heater in winter. I would like to buy a portable generator Propane powered and have it kick on for a couple hours each day so that I can run a dehumidifier. My solar system is way undersized to do this and I’m not interested in buying more batteries and panels since I only have this problem in late spring and summer. The smallest Generac whole home gen I’ve seen around $2500. I don’t need one that big. Any suggestions on portable propane gens with timer? Or how to put an auto start/stop timer on one. Thanks

There are a plethora of small generators. Some run on gasoline, some on propane or natural gas. Most are noisy and if that is a concern then you'll need to get a brand known for quiet running (Honda, Yamaha, a few other) which command a premium price.
You posted this in the chainsaw forum, so I suggest you repost this in the generator forum. You'll get lots of good ideas.
