hi i recently bought a referb generator when i have 2 lights plugged in to it the lights are fairly dim but when we plug an electric saw in to it and run it, the lights get brighter. Im sure this is not right is there a problem with the generator?

also i have a nail gun that i have plugged into it on its own and it won't run that at all.

Its an 800 W 2 stroke generator

Any ideas?

Thanks

Valley Blue, sounds like the governor is not set correctly. Try this - when you have just the lights plugged in, manually rev the engine with the throttle assembly, if that increases the brightness, you need to adjust up the idle and/or governor. The electric saw may be pulling sufficient amps to engage the governor.

You may want purchase an inexpensive tachometer to be sure you are running at 3600 RPM's, the speed needed to generate 60Hz.
