Hi there from Oz. New to this forum.
I have a Chinese 6KVA ac petrol Generator.
It has (1) 6KVA 3phase outlets and (3) 240VAC
2KW outputs.
I need to use it to power a 240VAC water pump
which will run OK from 1 outlet but as it draws around
2.7KW at start up, will not start.
Can I cause any damage to the generator by splicing to outputs together to give me 240VAC and 4KVA.
Nothing else is connected to the generator when the water
pump is running.
If this is a problem any other suggestions?

Thanks

Splicing is rarely a good idea. In this case each single phase socket will be drawing from a different phase.

If you splice them together the power from each will be out of sync and the result will not be good - don't do it.

Buy a bigger unit, or a 3 phase pump.
