robertstaley28 Don't worry! The frequency is fixed for all generator. If the frequency is not correct your generator cannot start. I think your generator is all ok.

High Frequency/High voltage

I have a 7kw Guardian generator that is having some issues. With no load the voltage output on a single leg is 160v both at the generator and in the house. The frequency is right at 60hz in the house, but at the generator it reads in the 1.x kHz range. I have adjusted the governor as low as it will go and still can’t get the frequency in range at the generator.

Any ideas on what might be wrong or what to test would be greatly appreciated.
