DIY Generator question

HI, I was doing some research on DIY generators, and I had a question about them before I spend a ton of money and start building. How do you actually get the generators to "tap" into your power at your house so that your electronics in your house run on the generator. There's some I found that were saying like "your meter can run backwards and the electric company can pay YOU money", but how does it hook up to your meter and all? if that makes sense.

There's some solar and mechanical ones I found on this website. The solar looks ok, but the mechanical doesn't make sense to me. It seems like it'd be "free" energy, and if it's so free, why doesn't everyone in the world do it, and why aren't boxes of this being made and shipped to places like haiti and other impoverished countries and getting power all over the world? here's the website: https://iblogreviews.home.blog/2019/...gy-generators/

let me know what you think.

There's so much BS on that site, I'm not certain where to begin... Run (do not walk) away.

What he said! "If it sounds too good to be true...."

What are you trying to build? What capacity, and what budget? If you just need backup power during outages, inexpensive generators have gotten pretty cheap, it may be tough to come up with something reliable & safe for much less.
