Battery question - posts almost non existent

I apologize if this is an inappropriate place to post this question. I am putting together a battery bank using older golf cart batteries. I have six of them, two have posts that are nearly down to the plastic top of the battery itself. I've had the batteries tested and they are still functioning batteries. I'm just not sure if it's ok to proceed to use them with the posts wittled down like they are.

Thanks much for any input on this.

Joe

Please try and post pics with more light to show the matter. Or give a few more details:

  • Are you saying the post is not sealed at the plastic when you ref ,nearly down to the plastic top”?
  • Is “with the posts wittled down” ref to the wear on the dia of the post?
  • IMO, if the gases are still sealed in the batteries, they should be safe if you have to adapt to post size.
