20KW Generator question

Hello there chaps I hope you are all well

I hate to just jump in out of the blue firing off questions but I really need the help on this

I have bought an ACDC TIG welder 170AMP which requires a minimum 0f 5KVA to run but is recommended 6KVA

Now im sure that the 20KW gennie will produce more that enough power for the welder but is it likely to potentially blow it ?

The manual for my welder says dont use on generators without AVR and im not sure if the generator has it ?

Any help would be much appreciated

What is the make and model of the generator? It will almost certainly have an AVR.

Hey thanks for the reply romore

The generator is made by a Spanish firm called abamotor model is 1822 I've never heard of these guys but then generators are new to me, i tried to find the model on there website which looks like is was put together in the early 90s but had no joy.

I would have thought something so powerful would have had something fitted but i just don't want to chance destroying my welder.
